Edward A. Cowan 52 of Rutheron, NM. died peacefully on Saturday February 14, 2009 in Albuquerque, NM. He had a genuine concern for the continued wellbeing of his family, but was a "jack of all trades". He owned & operated EDS GRILL in Rutheron for over 7 years, and was a US Army Veteran serving in Europe during the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Jewel Cowan, sister Veda Cowan, brother Wayne Cowan and stepfather Woody Nelson who helped raise Ed. He is survived by his beloved wife Mary K. Cowan, and children; Amanda Cowan of Albuquerque, Adam Cowan and wife Jolene of Montana, Auburn Cowan of Taos, Danial Burr of California, Andy Kaminski and fiance' Kayla of Montana and Alfred Pelz of Chama., grandchildren who were being raised by Ed and Mrs. Cowan: Colby, Alyssia and Marissa, and other grandchildren Aleena, Kayla, Owen, Isaiah and Emily. He is also survived by two brothers: Jack Cowan of Missouri and Harold Nelson of Colorado as well as other relatives. There will be no public visitation, however a memorial service will be held on Saturday February 21st at The Chama Valley Worship Center at 11:00 am. Pastor Rolando Benavidez will officiate.
