Edward Lucero

August 23, 1960 — December 24, 2021

Edward J. Lucero Sr “Grandpa Bear” age 61, a lifelong resident of Santa Cruz passed away peacefully on Friday, December 24, 2021. Edward served in the military in 1983. He specialized in mechanics, and built Harleys with the A & E Motor Cycles in 1990. Edward was committed to serving his community. He was the Pop Warner youth football president in 1997 and owner of the Semi Pro adult Football team Northern NM Hornets from 2007-2013. He was dedicated to his work and kind to all who knew him. His family knew they could always count on him, his willingness to help others was endless. Edward loved spending time with his only son Edward Lucero Jr. and  his daughter in-law Kimberly. He had three grandchildren who he loved dearly; Trinity “Nee Nee Bug” his God Daughter, Zachary “Zacko” his sidekick, and Kaleb “little bear”. His greatest memories were outdoors, fishing, hunting, and spending summers at his Eagles Nest cabin. Edward was preceded in death by his father Salvador Lucero, and brother Robert Lucero. Nephews; Pablito & Daniel Dominguez. Edward is survived by his beloved son Edward Lucero Jr, daughter in-law Kimberly, grandchildren Trinity (God Daughter), Zachary and Kaleb. His mother, Dolores Lucero, siblings; Eloy Lucero and wife Pearl, Margarette Dominguez & Evelyn Naranjo. He is also survived by his nephews and nieces, Erica Gonzales and husband Flavio, Noah Lucero, E.J Lucero and wife Jing, Jennifer Cockerell & husband Kyle, Adam Lucero, Leticia Romero and husband Keith, Nicholas Naranjo and Tina Dominguez.

Pallbearers- Zachary Lucero, Adam Lucero and Noah Lucero.

Honorary Pallbearers- Leticia Romero, Jennifer Cockerelle, Khristian Dominguez, Andrea Gonzales, Tina Dominguez, Erica Gonzales and Richard Horton. 

Services will be as follows: 

Rosary- Friday, January 7, 2022 at 7pm at Holy Cross Catholic Church.

Rosary and Funeral- Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 2pm at Holy Cross Catholic Church. 

Honorary Burial- Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
