Edwardo Dennis Roybal, 89, resident of Taylor Ranch Albuquerque, NM passed away peacefully on August 13, 2021 due to natural causes. He was born on March 10, 1932 in Pojoaque, NM to Luisa B. Roybal and Jose Ascencion Roybal. He married Joann Wright Roybal on August 4, 1962 in Santa Fe, NM.
He is preceded in death by his brothers; Jose C., Arthur, Gus, Manuel, Gilbert, Alfonso, Tony and Ray Roybal and his sisters; Ophelia, Magdalena and Celina.
He is survived by his sisters; Mary (Wayne ) Woodson and Carmen (Ben) Montoya, daughters; Annette (Dennis) Womack and Patricia (Donald) Houston, grandchildren; Dominic (Sabrina) Lopez, Preston Womack and Selena Houston and Great grandchildren; Mya Lopez and another one on the way.
Edwardo Dennis Roybal served in the Korean war in the Marines infantry from September 1951 through July 1954 and he received numerous awards and medals including the Purple Heart. He was a long time member of the Gray Beards of the Korean War as well as he was a member of the DAV and Purple Heart Association.
Married to his loving wife Joann in 1962 and had their two daughters, Annette and Patricia. His knowledge in construction took them to California, and there he worked around the Bay Area in the northern part of California with his brother Gilbert Roybal. In 1977 they returned to New Mexico, and he worked with in Los Alamos with the fire Department. Then he went on to work for D.O.E with the labs in Los Alamos in security. From there he was Transferred to Albuquerque and worked at the Kirkland Airforce Base and was chief of security there. He also worked for four years before he retired from Jaycor in security. He was a truly devoted husband and father/Grandfather.
He was such a brave, loving, caring and giving “hero”.
Our dearest husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, you will be missed dearly. Our tears and prayers will never stop. You will always be in our hearts and thoughts always and forever.

A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, September 01, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. at the Rivera Kiva Chapel of Light located at 417 Rodeo Road, Santa Fe, NM 87505.
Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 02, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Parish followed by interment at 12:45 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
