Edward T. Sanchez, Jr.

Edward (Eddie) T. Sanchez, Jr., age 53, a resident of Alcalde, New Mexico, passed away on October 24, 2014, peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carmen M. Sanchez, his father, Edward T. Sanchez, Sr., maternal grandfather, Bonifacio Maestas, paternal grandparents, Antonio and Louisa Sanchez. Edward was born in Torrance, California and was raised in Alcalde, New Mexico. He was a proud veteran who served in both the Army and the Navy. He loved to farm, work on the ranch, and he loved horses. He was an avid fan of his nieces and nephews sports activities. His family was very important to him. He is survived by Teresa A. Martinez, his Angel, Christopher A. Martinez, and Jackie Montoya (La Puebla), Zelda and Louie Jaramillo (La Mesilla), Kathy and Steve Gomez (La Puebla), Danny Sanchez (Alcalde), Diana and Ron Lovato (Ohkay Owingeh), Theresa and Lupe Romero (Chimayo), God-daughter/niece, Andrea Gomez, numerous nieces, great-nieces, nephews, Louis, Manny, Felipe, Joseph, Delfinio, Joshua, Santiago, Matthew, Amanda, Marcie, Chrissy, Asia Carmen, Arianna, Ashley, Aaron Romero, caregiver, Dora Cruz and many relatives, and friends. A rosary was recited Sunday, October 26, 2014, at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de La Canada in Santa Cruz, New Mexico. A second rosary was recited on Monday, October 27, 2014, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, also at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de La Canada in Santa Cruz, New Mexico. Interment took place following Mass at Holy Cross Cemetery. Serving the family as Pallbearers will be: Levi Romero, Andrea Gomez, Louis Jaramillo, Jr., Joseph Lovato, Aaron Romero, and Danny Sanchez. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Manuel, Marcie, and Chrissy Jaramillo, Felipe Gomez, Delfinio, Joshua, Santiago, Asia Carmen, and Arianna Lovato, Matthew and Amanda Romero, Christopher Dylan, Noah Cicilio, and Christopher A.
