Edward Vigil

Edward Isidro Vigil, 97, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 6, surrounded by his children.  Edward was born on May 15, 1924, raised in Santa Fe where he spent most of his life.  In 1942, he joined the    military to serve his country during World War II.  Edward’s passion was his music.  In the early 50’s he formed a musical group called the Blue Notes.  After working in the appliance repair business for a number of years he decided to start his own business in 1968; Ed’s Appliance Service.  His son joined him in 1971 and is still in business.

Edward was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years Mary Ann; his parents Jacobo and Filia Vigil; sisters Molly Vigil, Isabel (Joe) Baca, Maida Abeyta; brothers Fred Vigil, Jake (Lucy) Berry, Alfonso (Gracie) Vigil, Beatrice and Albert; sister-in-law Flora Vigil; brother-in-law Percy Lopez.  Also preceded by his in-laws Jessie and Mariano Sena; sister-in-law Rosina Montoya; brother-in-laws Billy (Fanny) Sena, Rubel Sena, Tommy Sena and Richard Sena.

He is survived by his children John, Mary Ann and Connie; his sister Josie Lopez; brothers Jose and Frank Vigil; in-laws Tony Abeyta, Antonia Vigil, Lalo (Inez) Sena, Michael Sena, Socorro Sena; his grandchildren Dominic, Brenda, Nicole, Jessica, and Tyler; great-grandchildren Nicolas and Anjolie, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A rosary will be recited at the Rivera Family Funeral Home, 417 E. Rodeo Road, Santa Fe, NM on Sunday October 3, 2021 at 6:00pm, following the visitation at 5:00pm.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30pm Monday October 4, 2021 at Cristo Rey Catholic Church followed by burial services with full military honors at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3:00pm.
