Edythe Louise Anderson Taos, NM Edy Anderson died unexpectedly and peacefully of natural causes on May 25, 2019 at the age of 85. She is preceded in death by Richard Wiard her son, Leslie Wiard (daughter in-law), and Keri and Amy Wiard (granddaughters). She is survived by her husband Dr. Charlie Anderson, children Barb, Tom, Rob, Ted Wiard, and Chauncey, Gingy, Finlay Anderson, as well as many, many grandchildren. She is also remembered by so many loved friends and community. Edy was proud of her academic success and had an enormous loyalty to the University of Michigan where she received her primary nursing training. She went on to receive her MBA from the College of Santa Fe. Her commitment to humanistic nursing and public health resonates throughout Northern New Mexico and her legacy will be felt forever. Her time as the Director of Nursing at Holy Cross Hospital was one of her most exciting career benchmarks. Edy and Charlie, with their family arrived in Taos in 1976. With a great commitment to community Edy partnered with Charlie and founded the Taos Clinic for Children and Youth. She helped start the Los Alamos Visiting Nurse Services, was one of the founders of Taos Community Foundation, as well as being an early board member for Golden Willow Retreat. Her footprint and commitment to love, family, and community will always be remembered and felt. A memorial service is planned June 1, 2019 at the KTAOS Solar Center at 10:00 AM.
