Eligio Savedra

October 7, 1922 — November 14, 2019

Eligio “Lee” Savedra 97 passed away peacefully at home on November 14, 2019. Lee was born in 1922 in Gallup, New Mexico. He was a 22 year Airforce veteran and was proud to serve his country. Lee was a father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a man who loved life, his favorite hobbies were hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family and comrades.

He enjoyed John Wayne movies, listening to Johnny Cash, singing and playing guitar. But, he truly enjoyed playing cards at the MEG Center, “if he lost, they were cheating.” Lee ran only on one speed, and that was, “TURBO.” Lee’s favorite saying of all time ”only the Shadow knows.” He touched many people in his long life of 97 years. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten for he left imprints on all our hearts’

Lee was survived by his two daughters, Rose Keir and Yolanda Thune; his three remaining brothers Anthony, Arthur and Clarence; and his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Services will be held at Riverside California National Cemetery at a later date. The Savedra Family has entrusted Lee’s care to the Rivera Family Funeral Home 305 Calle Salazar Espanola, N.M.
