Elive Valdez

Elive Valdez age 70 of Tres Piedras, NM. died peacefully on Wednesday August 25, 2010 in Denver, CO. he was born on March 11, 1940 to the late Eliazar and Rosa Valdez in Dixon, NM. and worked in Maintenance and equipment operations for the state of New Mexico. He enjoyed Gods splendor in the beautiful outdoors of southern Colorado and northern New Mexico while fishing, camping, ranching and time spent on the family property in Las Tusas. He was preceded in death by his son David Valdez, parents Eliazar and Rosa Valdez and brother Rudy Valdez. Mr. Valdez is survived by his beloved wife Gloria, and children; Judy Chavez and husband Pedro of Gypsum, CO., Melinda Lucero and husband Benny also of Gypsum, Margie Conklin of Ojo Caliente, Vangie Chavez and husband Steve of Vallecitos, Rosie Valdez and husband Leonard of Gypsum, Walter Valdez and wife Diane of Gypsum, and Jonathan Valdez and wife Tammy of Antonito, CO., granddaughters raised as daughters include Cynthia Cordova and Rosanna Archuleta, 20 dear grandchildren & 14 dear great-grandchildren, siblings; Ina Gurule, Arturo "Amos" Valdez, Elizabeth Valdez, Martha Savala, Beatrice Dolores Valdez, Consuelo Valdez and husband Alex Valdez and Anastacio "Tacho" Valdez and wife Marcella, numerous nephews/nieces and other relatives. Public visitation will be held on Sunday August 29th beginning at 6:00 pm at Rivera Family Funeral Home in Espanola with an evening devotional service beginning at 7:00 pm. The funeral service will be on Monday at 10:30 am at The Seventh Day Adventist Church of Tres Piedras, with interment following in Las Tusas. Serving as pallbearers are: David Martinez, Pedro Chavez, Jr., Jonathan, Walter and David Valdez, Nick and Eric Conklin and Onesimo Archuleta.
