Eliza L. Sanchez

Eliza was born October 2, 1906, in Ojo Caliente, NM, to Pedro Lopez and Natividad Gallegos. She lived in Lyden, Nm, for the past 86 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Federico Sanchez; daughter, Josephine Lujan; and sons, Gilbert, Benito, Isidoro Sanchez; sisters, Rose Lopez, Maria Gumez Lopez, Cornelia Martinez, Andrellita Maestas, Nicholasa Archuleta and brother, Tony Lopez. She is survived by her children, Lydia Rivera, James Sanchez (Maria Teresa), Stella Carter, Berta Ulibarri (Alfonso), Rita Sanchez, as well as 25 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and 16 great, great grandchildren. Recitation of Rosary was held on March 27,at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Velarde. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday,also at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church; followed by interment at Velarde Cemetery.
