Elizardo P. Montoya – Age 86 a lifelong resident of Truchas passed away on Friday, August 26, 2005. He was preceded in death by his parents: Esquipula and Dionicia Montoya; brothers: Rosendo, Pablin and Atanacio; sisters: Constancia, Cleotilde and Florinda. Elizardo served in the Army in the Second World War for 4 years and 9 months in the European Theater. He worked at the Capitol for several years, then in Los Alamos for 26 years where he retired in 1987. His hobbies were reading his bible and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchild who he loved dearly. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Hevila; his sons: Ray and wife Nila, Mike and wife Darlene and Benjamin and wife Angela; and daughter, Dionicia and husband Michael Ortega of Albuquerque; 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; 2 brothers: Elefio and Evaristo Montoya; and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. with a devotional service to be held at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary. Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 29, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the Smith Memorial Presbyterian Church in Truchas. Burial will follow at the San Miguel Cemetery in Truchas with the following serving as pallbearers: Andrew, Robert, Matthew, Isaac and Adam Montoya and Miguel Ortega.
