Eloisa S Martinez

Eloisa S. Martinez age 90 of Espanola died peacefully on Wednesday June 4, 2008 at the family home. She was preceded in death by her husband Delio Martinez, sisters Amelia Quintana and Anna Lujan, brother Rudolfo "Red" Sisneros, and parents Augustine and Magdalena Sisneros. Eloisa graduated valedictorian of her high school class and was a prominent business woman in Espanola for many years as co-proprietor of "The Fashion Shop". She had a vibrant love for life, and was a loving mother and a loving wife. She enjoyed playing bingo and traveling and was dedicated to her family and her friends in the community. She had a profound and abiding faith and was very active in the Catholic Church, having been a long time organist at Holy Cross Catholic Church. She is survived by her three sons; Frank D. Martinez (Juliette) of Albuquerque, Eloy G. Martinez (Kathy) of Ft. Collins, CO., and Ted A. Martinez (Anna) of Albuquerque, sisters Dorilla Swindle of Ft. Smith, AK., and Lena Trujillo of Espanola, Grandson Patrick, and step grandchildren; Jake and Amber Denooy and Alexis August, her caregiver Socorro Mercado, sisters in law Nora Salazar of Chamita and Henrietta Castillo of San Francisco, CA., niece Virginia Quintana, nephew and Godson Johnny Quintana as well as many other nieces and nephews and relatives. The Rosary will be recited Thursday at 7:00 pm in the chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary, and a wake service will be held Friday at 7:00 pm also at the mortuary. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday June 9th at 1:00 pm at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Espanola. Interment will follow at The Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3:00 pm.
