Eloy Gomez, age 85 of Espanola, NM, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2018.
Eloy was born in Espanola on June 9,1932 to his beloved parents, Simon Gomez, Sr. and Luz Vigil-Gomez who preceded him death and too, his son, Kenneth L. Gomez and a brother, Marcos Gomez.
He is survived by his son, Stephan W. Gomez; sister, Angelina Gomez-Salazar; brother, Simon Gomez, Jr.; grandson, Kenneth L. Gomez, II (Becky); granddaughter, Kathleen Gomez-Vigil (Clarence); nephew, Ralph Gomez; Great-grandson, Phoenix Vigil; and three great-granddaughters, Scarlett Vigil, Elliana Vigil and Kimberly Gomez. Eloy is also survived by many other family and friends.
Eloy served in the United States Army as Reserve Warrant Officer. He attended Adam State College and graduated with a BA in Economics. Eloy was also well known as an Employment Interviewer with the New Mexico Labor Commission for over 30 years. He favorite pastime was traveling.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 4 PM at Rivera Family Funeral Home followed by a Rosary that will be prayed at 6 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Espanola on Thursday, January 11, 2017 at 10 AM followed by burial at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
