Elvira (Vera) Bustos Garcia, age 49, was born on January 9, 1966 in Fairview, NM. Vera was preceded in death by her father, Ramon Garcia of Velarde, her sister, Josephine Garduno of El Llano, her aunt, Connie Garcia, maternal grandparents, Ramon and Lisaida Lucero of Santa Cruz, Eliseo and Vera Vigil of Espanola, paternal grandparents, Salvador and Celina Garcia of Velarde, NM. Vera is survived by her mother, Helen Garcia of Alcalde, her partner, Bobby Trujillo of Santa Cruz, brother, Raymond Lucero (Juanita) of Santa Cruz, sister, Lisaida Archuelta (David) of Alcalde, sister, Renee Forbes (Rodney) of Georgia, godson whom she loved like a son Andrew Garduno (Andrea), nieces like daughters, Desiray Garduno and Victoria Garduno (Allen), godson, Dion Garduno, her nephew whom she loved like a brother, Anthony Lucero (Andrea), beloved nephew and nieces Elizabeth Lucero (Mike), Ashley Pennington (James), Alicia Archuleta and Davy Archuleta, uncle, Richard Garcia of Velarde, Aunt Diana Gitterman (Allen) of California, and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Vera worked at S. Site in Los Alamos, as manager and cook with her sister Josephine and nephews. She loved to cook and was known for her great cooking, wood carvings and many other hobbies. A Rosary was recited on Friday, November 13, 2015 at Rivera Family Funeral Home in Espanola. Mass of Christian Burial took place on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Velarde. Interment followed mass. Vera's family wishes to acknowledge with heartfelt appreciation your kind expression of sympathy during this difficult time.
