Emilia Lovato, age 96, a resident of Dixon, passed away on May 19, 2015 of natural causes. She was born on December 25, 1918. In Rodarte, to Jose Maria Sanchez and Dresola Romero Sanchez, she was married to Alberto Lovato.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Dresola Romero Sanchez, father, Jose Maria Sanchez, grandmother who raised her Vidalita Vigil Romero and her grandfather Jose D. Romero, son, Nelson Floyd Lovato, husband, Alberto Lovato Sr., daughter Elisa E. Salazar, granddaughter Nellie Suazo, a very special sister Delfina Vasquez. Emilia is also preceded in death by 2 sisters, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters-in-law.
She is survived by her daughter, Vidalita Lovato of Dixon, sons, Alberto J. Lovato Jr. of Albuquerque, Daniel Lovato Sr., of Dixon, brothers, Silviano Sanchez of Llano de San Juan, Amadeo Sanchez of Utah, very special granddaughter and caregiver, Marlene C. Lovato of Pojoaque, very special granddaughter Lori Valdez (Tony) of Albuquerque, a grandson raised by her Paul D. Salazar of Albuquerque, special son-in-law William D. Salazar, very special grandson Fernando V. Lovato. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren.
She was a great lady, very religious, she liked to sing hymns, she enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, and physical activity. She was always very active. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Her grandchildren were very special to her and she enjoyed cooking, caring for them and teaching them about life.
Serving the family as pallbearers will be: Fernando V. Lovato, Porfirio D. Lovato, Arnold Arellano, Epimenio Herrera, Tony Valdez Sr. and Duane Atencio. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her great great grandchildren.
A wake was held on Friday, May 22, 2015 at Rivera Family Funeral Home in Espanola. A devotional service took place on Saturday, May 23, 2015, also at Rivera Family Funeral Home. Interment followed at the Dixon Community Cemetery.
