Emma Irene Rosso
August 3, 1924 ~ January 17, 2009
Emma was born in Colfax, NM, the daughter of Narciso & Divina Federici, both whom preceded her in death. A sister, Benezia and brother Fred J. Federici also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband Lento, son Mike and wife Margie of Cimarron, daughter Netta and husband Ron Walker of Eagle Nest, granddaughters Divina Rosso, Mistica Walker and DeJa Walker, two great-grandchildren, brother William Federici and wife Elsie of Santa Fe, sister Ann Martin of Santa Fe, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family.
Emma attended school in Dawson, NM for nine years, then moved to Cimarron, NM where she graduated from High School. She attended secretarial school in Albuquerque, NM, before returning to Cimarron where she was employed as a telephone operator during WWII.
She and Lento were married February 5, 1946 in Springer, NM. They worked side by side for many years in their grocery store and dry goods store in Cimarron, NM. Emma was a member of the Sorosis Club and Immaculate Conception Church. She volunteered her time to the Cimarron Fire Department, Kiwanis Club and the Maverick Club.
She, along with her husband, family and friends, enjoyed traveling, singing, dancing, playing piano, cooking, playing cards, picnicking, fishing, and entertaining.
A Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 24, 2009, at 11:00am at the Sister Hildegarde Smith Parish Hall, HWY 21, Cimarron, NM. Private interment to follow at a later date.
