Emmett J. Buck Henry passed away at his home in Santa Fe, New Mexico on Saturday December 28 of natural causes. Born on September 10, 1929 in Cleveland, OH, to Emmett and Dorothy Henry, the family moved to Sheffield, PA when Buck was a child. After graduating high school there (where he was a standout player on the basketball and football teams), he enlisted in the US Navy, serving as a Radioman Third Class on the USS Siboney during the Korean War. After his service ended, he attended Penn State University in State College and from then on was a life-long fan of anything and everything Penn State. He had a long and successful career in the reinsurance business, primarily in California, and worked for several firms including Towers, Perrin, Forster & Crosby, Guy Carpenter and Company, The John F. Sullivan Company, and Wilcox, Inc. from where he retired as a Senior Vice President. While living in California, he realized his dream of learning to sail and enjoyed taking day trips on his boat with his family. Upon retirement, he moved to Sedona, AZ and enjoyed playing tennis, camping and hiking in the area. It was also there that his love for motorcycles was born. Always a traveler, after many years in Sedona, he relocated to northern California at The Sea Ranch, and while there was a member of the Anchor Bay Amateur Radio Club, the Guala Lions Club, and served as President on The Sea Ranch Chapel Foundation. He also was an enthusiastic golfer. He and his wife moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico, several years ago, and he served as a volunteer at the local horse rescue shelter. He is survived by his wife Anita, a sister, Carol Daniels, wife of John, and his children Timothy, husband of Linda, Lydia, partner of Lois Dostalik, and Darah, fiancé of Bob Hallack; four grandchildren Lindsay, Sarah, Amber and Alex; and two great-grandchildren Ava and Cameron. Internment of his remains will take place later this year at the cemetery of his childhood home of Sheffield, PA.
