Erlinda Herrera, 94, of Arroyo Hondo passed away on March 18, 2018. She was employed by Holy Cross hospital for close to 30 years, this job suited her as she was a people person, she was very thoughtful of others, her friendly personality continued thought the duration of her stay at the Taos Living Center where she made friends of staff and residents. Her hobbies included reading, baking, taking walks, embroidery and having lunch with her "Golden Girls." Her grandchildren were her treasure, she taught them to bake, embroider and pray. Her love of her Catholic faith was something she worked hard to pass on to her children and grandchildren. She was a devoted member of the Sacred Heat League.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ruben E. Herrera, infant children, Lydia and Ruben Jr., parents, Delfino and Emiliana Gonzales, brothers, Fermin, Adonais, Julio and Jake Gonzales and sister, Rosa Cordova.
She is survived by her children, Larry Harrera (Kathleen), Sylvia Duran (Sixto), Dan Herrera (Mildred), Julio Herrera (Sylvia), Alvin Herrera (Cathi), Anna Herrera and Sandra Herrera, 18 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, sister, Carolina Gonzales, son in-law, Andy Romero, special niece, Tina Vigil, special nephew, Richard Padilla, many other relatives and friends.
Rosary will be recited on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at 7 PM at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic church in Arroyo Hondo. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, March 26, 2018 at 10 AM at Our Lady of Sorrows in Arroyo Hondo. The family invites you to join them at a meal following the mass at Holy Trinity Parish Hall in Arroyo Seco.
Interment will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 10:30 am at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Interment will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
