Erminia (Minnie) Ortiz Erminia Ortiz, age 94, of Cuyamungue, passed away on August 8, 2017. She was born on June 9, 1923 to her parents Beatrice and Jose de Jesus Romero. Minnie was on of ten (10) children. She is preceded in death by her husband, Antonio Ortiz; son, Michael Ortiz; grandson, Edward Ortiz; her parents, J.J. and Beatriz Romero; sisters, Frances (Ramon), Ursula (Joe), Veva (Ted), Abigail(Benny), and Carrie (Ted); brothers, Andy (Margaret), Jose S. Jr (Delia), Narcciso (Helen), and Ernesto, brother-in-law, Pat Ortiz (Clarabel), Elias and Celia Ortiz , Eddy Ortiz, Dicky Ortiz (Sally), Robert Ortiz (Jenny), Joe Ortiz, Noverta and Oliver Garcia, and Percilla Ortiz. She is Survived by her sister-in-law, Viola Romero of Long Beach, California; children, Evelyn Romero (Richard), Samuel Ortiz (Berlina), and Lorenzo Ortiz of Cuyamungue; seven (7) grandchildren Jon Paul, Michael (Susana), Gwen (Peter), Adrian (Bianca), Greg (Claudette), Vincent (Cristy), Elias (Sara), nine (9) great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Erminia worked as a salesperson for Sears and Penny’s and Anthony’s, and worked hard as a Head Housekeeper at Rancho Encantado for many years. Minnie loved all of her family and loved to spend time with them cooking and feeding them around her kitchen table where they would all talk and laugh and enjoy each other’s company. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her, especially her family. The family would like to thank St. Vincent’s Hospital Staff, and PMS Hospice for the wonderful care for our mother and a special thanks to Ellena Calderon (caregiver), who was loved like a daughter. A Rosary will be recited on August 18, 2017 at 9:00am, at Our Lady of Guadalupe (Pojoaque), followed by A Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Honorary Pallbearers are Erminia’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
