ERNEST E. "BUDDY" ABEYTA age 76 of Fairview passed away on Monday January 7, 2008. He served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean war and retired from Los Alamos National Laboratory. He was preceded in death by his parents Jose and Amalia Abeyta, his father and mother in law Tito and Margaret M. Valdez, sisters; Virginia Thibodeaux, Ethyl Yeast and Sylvia Harrison, brother J. Charles Abeyta as well as other family members. He is survived by his wife of nearly 49 years; Josephine V. "JoJo" Abeyta, sons Jeff T. Abeyta of Las Cruces and Jerome R. Abeyta of Alcalde, grandchildren whom he helped raise; Jerome E. "Gino" Abeyta and Jasmin Abeyta both of the family home, brothers and sisters; Louis A. Abeyta and wife Josephine of Tucumcari, J.A. "Red" Abeyta, Jr. and wife Betty of Carlsbad, Norman R. Abeyta and wife Kathryn of Tucumcari, Steve F. Abeyta and wife Hope of Tuscon, AZ., Anita Roche of Albuquerque, Aurora L. Abeyta of Santa Fe, Lorinda Kemp of Albuquerque and Christine Turnbeaugh of Tuscon, AZ., brother in Law Ernest E. Valdez of Santa Fe and sister in law Cordelia V. Carolus and husbans Charles Sanchez of Albuquerque as well as other family members. Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Tuesday January 8th at 7:00 pm at Block-Salazar Mortuary, the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 1:00 pm at La Iglesia De Santa Cruz De La Canada.
