Ernest "Ernie" Romero, Jr.

Ernest "Ernie" Romero, Jr. – Age 46 a resident of Española and formerly of Dixon passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2007. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Amadeo and Estephanita Romero; maternal grandparnets: Eloy and Fedelina Gonzales; brother, Carl Romero; mother in law, Carmelita D. Romero; aunts and uncles: Rosa Padilla, Lito Romero, Eloy Gonzales, Jr., Priscilla Gonzales and Alberto Romero; and cousin, Arthur Gonzales. May their souls rest in peace. Ernie enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping and anything the outdoors had to offer him. He is survived by his wife, Jennie Espinoza-Romero of Española; son, Adrian Romero of Española; daughter, Elaine Espinoza-Romero of Española; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Marie Romero of Ojo Sarco; parents: Ernesto and Elva Romero of Dixon; brother, Jimmy Romero of Velarde; sister, Juanita Romero of Dixon; niece, Pamela Alcala and husband Julio of Dixon; nephews: Carl Romero, Jr. of San Juan Pueblo and David Romero and wife Beverly of La Mesilla; aunts and uncles: Ofelia Gonzales, Bertha Gonzales and Lupita Romero and husband Robert all of Dixon, Helen Griego and husband Gilbert of Peñasco, Ruby Gonzales of Dixon and John Romero and wife Ruth of Colorado; brother-in-law, Sam Romero and wife Sophie of Chimayo; sister-in-law, Faby Romero of Chimayo; and numerous cousins and other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Thursday, February 15, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary. A second rosary will be recited on Friday, February 16, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Dixon. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday, February 17, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Father Mark Schutz officiating. Burial will follow at the Dixon Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Andrew Maestas, Eddie Trevino, David Romero, Julio Alcala, Patrick Maestas and Fred Romero.
