Ernestine Marie Mitchell

Ernestine M. Mitchell Age 90 a resident of St. Augustine, Florida passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2006. She was a resident of the Española area for many years. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ben in 1992; brothers: Tito, Henry and Tony; sisters: Aurora, Josephine, Ruby and Celina; and her parents: Adan Martinez and Elaiza Vigil-Martinez. She was born in Española, NM. on April 28, l915 and married her husband Ben, on January 30, 1953 in Washington, DC. Her working career includes tenures at the Department of Agriculture, National Institutes of Health and The Atomic Energy Commission (Dept of Energy). Other Memberships include The Society of the Holy Family and Toastmasters of Santa Fe. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Mills and her husband Clifford of St. Augustine, FL.; granddaughters: Abby Mills and Jessie Mills both of Jacksonville, FL.; grandson, Micah Mills of Jacksonville, FL.; and her brother, Joe Martinez and his wife Dora Martinez of Cuarteles, NM.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Sunday, January 8, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 9, 2006 at 9:30 a.m. at La Iglesia De Santa Cruz De La Cañada. Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Ronald, Adam, Archie, Mark and Justin Martinez and Ronald Martinez Jr. The family of Ernestine M.
