Ernesto E. Valerio, 81, of Ranchos de Taos, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away on November 28, 2014 surrounded by his family. He was born in Ranchos de Taos, New Mexico and was a lifelong resident. He joined the Army in 1953 after graduating from high school and served his country for 8 years and then attended Highlands University. He retired from Kit Carson Electric Cooperative after being employed for over 30 years from his position as a staking engineer. He is preceded in death by his parents, Trinidad and Adela Valerio and brothers Cordilio and Trinidad Valerio Jr. and infant sister Consuelo Valerio. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mabel Valerio, children Patricia Trujillo (George), Ernest Valerio Jr. (Amy Archuleta), Melissa Ranspot (Yancey) and Denise Valerio, grandchildren, Tiffany and Robbie Trujillo, Nathan, Brian and Zach Valerio and their mother Jessica Cardenas, Brittanie, Brandon, Mikayla and Malia Ranspot, sisters, Margaret Montoya (Phil), Dorothy Massa (Steve), Ruth Nelson, brothers Greg Valerio (Connie), Orlando Valerio and Paul Valerio (Cindy), nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Rosary was recited on December 4, 2014 at San Francisco de Asis Catholic Church. Funeral mass was held on December 5, 2014 at San Francisco de Asis Church.
