Ernest (Tito) Ulibarri Jr., age 91, son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, carpenter, superintendent and mentor residing in White Rock, New Mexico, passed away of natural causes. He died peacefully in his home surrounded by family on September 18, 2023.
He was born in Park View, New Mexico, in 1931, to Ernesto and Maria Ana Ulibarri. Ernest attended school in Tierra Amarilla until an injury sustained by his father required that Ernest leave school to help support the family. Later he went to work in the construction industry, primarily with Lockwood Construction, where he built his career over the next 57 years, spanning from custom home building to large scale commercial construction. He was passionate about his profession, which took him all around the southwest, where he oversaw construction projects at Los Alamos National Laboratory facilities, churches, hospitals, colleges, museums and housing subdivisions, to name a few. Tito deeply loved his family and pursued his outdoor hobbies of hunting, fishing and camping with them.
Ernest is preceded in death by his father and mother, Ernest and Maria Ana, brothers Henry and Alfonso. He is survived by his loving wife Celia, his sisters Dorothy, Terry, Josie, his ten children and twenty one grandchildren: Michael (Janelle), children: Michelle (Michael), Shantelle (Miguel), Danielle (Carlos); Lawrence (significant other Allison) children: Justin, Jesse; Marie (Manuel) children: Joshua, Micaela; Carolyn, children: Jonathan, Jeremy (Hannah); Phillip (Jennifer), children: Cody, Ryan (Makaela), Gabriella, Jacob, Lukas; Sandra (Bob), children: Samatha (Ivan), Vanessa, Shanya, Charles, Graciela; Helen (Bill); Rick (Beth), children: Aspen, Greyson; Rudy (Rose), children: Dennis; Christine (Daniel), children: Zachary, Isabel, Aliyah and 9 great grand children as well as many special nieces and nephews and friends.
A rosary will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church 3700 Canyon Rd, Los Alamos, NM on Monday, September 25, 2023, 6 pm viewing, 7 pm rosary.
Funeral services will be held at San Jose Parish, 100 Main St., Los Ojos, NM, on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at 11 am.
