Esther Leffelbein

ESTHER ALICE LORENE LEFFELBEIN, 99, a resident of Santa Fe, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2016 from complications of age, just a month short of her 100th birthday. She was born February 28, 1916 in Lexington, Nebraska, the daughter of William and Metta (Bosselman) Leffelbein. After graduating from Lexington High School, she moved to Denver, CO where she graduated from Cosmetology School, and eventually owned and operated her own beauty salon until her retirement. Following retirement, she moved to Santa Fe, NM where she has lived for several years. Esther is survived by her younger brother, Don (Maria) Leffelbein of Santa Fe; niece Lois (David) Turner of Cove, Utah; nephew Roy (Nancy) Leffelbein of Otis, OR; and niece Esther Husenga of Cozad, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Metta Leffelbein, sisters, Lillian Johnson, Norma Rector, Helene Leffelbein, and B. Rose Leffelbein; and her brother, Clarence Leffelbein. Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, where a funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm Tuesday, with Pastor Douglas Escue officiating. Burial will take place the following day at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Littleton, CO where she will be laid to rest next to her sister Rose. Esther’s family expresses their deepest appreciation for the loving care she received at Kingston Residence and Mi Casa Bonita.
