Esther Santistevan

ESTHER M. SANTISTEVAN, 81, passed away at home in Albuquerque on October 29, 2015. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jose Roy Santistevan, and her daughters, Sally Santistevan (Albuquerque), Gilda Gonzales (Glenn Santa Rosa), Elizabeth Mondragon (Paul Albuquerque), Olga M Flores (Brian Albuquerque) and son-in-law, Clayton Peters (Nebraska). She was a proud grandmother of eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Anastacio Maestas (Kathy - California), Ubaldo Maestas (Linda - California), Corina Valdez (Eugene - Albuquerque), Bernida Maestas (Talpa), Tomasita Maestas (Talpa) and Manuel Antonio Maestas (Cecilia Talpa). She was preceded in death by her daughters, Rubina and Brenda, by her parents, Andres C. and Eloisa A. Maestas, and her siblings, Alejandro Maestas, Guillerma Romero, Rafael Maestas, Manuel Andres (Junior) Maestas and Orlando Maestas. Mom was well known by many people in the Taos area She was a teacher's aide at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School for many years. She also assisted some of the elderly in the area by driving them to appointments and doing their grocery shopping for them she also helped clean their homes and helped to make their lives easier. She will be greatly missed by many and will be remembered as a woman who greatly loved her family and friends. Rosary was held on November 5, 2015, Funeral mass was held on November 6, 2015. Both were held at San Francisco de Asis Church. Interment followed at Jesus Nazareno Cemetery. Arrangements by Rivera Family Funeral Home.
