Father, Brother, Uncle, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather, Eufemio Santiago Romero passed away under the care and attendance of his beloved wife Helen and daughters Christina, Lisa (Bunny) and surrounded by his devoted family on March 21, 2009. His life was spent as a youth in Cuyamungue and later in Denver CO. A graduate of Leah Harvey Jr. High, and Santa Fe High, Eufemio received an operators License from the State Barber College in Denver. His military service included an Honorable Discharge from the US Air Force and a tour of duty during the Korean War. He served in the 6314th Civil Engr Sq. Eufemio worked for the Los Alamos National Lab till his retirement in 2001. He also kept an active role in his Barber Shop that he owned and operated in Espanola, NM. He had affection for keeping and raising horses for many years and was active with the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was also preceded in death by his parents Gustavo and Marina Romero, sister Mela Gorman, brothers Willie Romero and Gus Romero. He is survived by his loving lifelong companion and wife, Helen and his beloved daughters; Christina Trujillo of Espanola, and Lisa Bunny Romero of Santa Fe, grandchildren; AJ, Tinisha and Josh, great-grandchildren; David and Nicholas, brother Julian Romero and wife Frances of Cuyamunge, sisters; Virginia Montoya of Nambe, Martha Maestas and husband Joe of La Puebla, Angie Ortiz and husband Leroy of Albuquerque and Pita Nabholz and husband Dick of Mesa AZ. A public visitation will be held on Wednesday March 25th at 6:30 pm in the Chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary, recitation of the rosary will follow at 7:00 pm also in the Chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday March 26th at 10:30 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de Canada, interment will follow with full Military Honors at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
