Eustaquio "E.C." Montoya, 81, a lifelong resident of La Puebla died peacefully on Saturday January 2, 2010 with his wife by his side. Eustaquio retired Los Alamos County while also working part time as a handyman for Ortega's Weaving Shop for 20 years. Eustaquio loved to joke, was loved by his many friends and treasured by his family and will be deeply missed by all of them. He was preceded in death by his mother Felicita Montoya and parents that raised him, Matias and Estefanita Montoya; two brothers Casimiro and Daniel Montoya; two sisters Josephina Maestas and Andrita Flores and a very close brother in law Ramon Esquibel. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Flossie Montoya; sons Arthur "Tootsie' Montoya and wife Cecilia, Anthony Montoya and companion Irene Truitt, all of La Puebla, grandchildren Arthur Montoya, Jr. and wife Melissa of Rio Rancho; Kristy Montoya of La Puebla and Anthony Martinez of La Puebla, brother Pete Montoya and sister in law Edwina Esquibel, all of La Puebla, brother in law Paul Medina and wife Mary of Chimayo, sister in law Edith Trujillo and husband Camilo of Chimayo as well as numerous nephews and nieces. A wake service will be held on Monday January 4th at 7:00 p.m. at Rivera Family Funeral Home. The mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Iglesia De La Santa Cruz De La Canada. Interment will follow at The La Puebla Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers; Arthur Montoya, Jr. Tomas Montoya, James Esquibel, Larry Pena, Bernie Jacques and Carasiolo Maestas.
