Evangeline Herrera

Evangeline Herrera, 83, passed away on December 18, 2017 in Santa Fe, NM. Evangeline was born in Vallecitos, NM on December 10, 1934 to Elijio and Estefanita De Vargas. After marriage, she moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico where she lived for her life. Evangeline was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Samuel Ricardo Herrera; infant son Patrick Vincent Herrera; brother, Isis De Vargas; sisters, Esther Lopez and Eppie Larabell; and brothers in law, Ben Salazar and Jerome Trujillo. Evangeline is survived by her son, Samuel M. Herrera of Taos; daughter, Loretta Yvette Garcia (Donald) of Santa Fe; grandsons Charles Garcia (Leslie) of Santa Fe and Patrick Garcia (DeAnna), of Albuquerque; grand-daughter, Yvette Garcia of Santa Fe and great-grandchildren Karolina, Xavier, Alexander, Bella and the her beloved Faith Garcia; sisters Rose Salazar, Geraldine Herrera, Esmiria Lucero, and Elva Trujillo; and by her dear friends Audrey Trujillo, Hector Andazola, Emma Estrada, Herman Coca and Sophia Shephard. Evangeline was a daughter, sister, friend, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grand-mother. Services for Evangeline are as follows: Rosary will be on December 27, 2017 at Santa Maria De La Paz at 10:30 AM followed by mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM and internment at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:45 PM. A reception will at her home. All invited.
