Felix Garcia

September 21, 1955 — June 23, 2020

Beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend passed away on June 23, at his home in La Mesilla, NM, surrounded by his loving family.  Sixty-four years old, Felix was born in Lumberton, NM and graduated from Dulce High School and New Mexico State University.  He worked for the Los Alamos National Laboratory, as a highly-skilled machinist for 33 years.  Besides his professional career with Los Alamos, Felix also enjoyed ranching, farming, and spending time with his family riding horses and experiencing the great outdoors.  Felix was fiercely devoted to his family and worked tirelessly to provide them with love and guidance to live their lives with passion, honor, and respect for all of God’s creation.  A faithful servant and member of the Espanola Knights of Columbus, Felix was always willing to “roll his sleeves up” and help his family, neighbors, and community, whenever he was needed.   His friends knew him for his super nice disposition, compassion, and encouraging ways – always going the extra mile to be a great friend.   Thankful for his presence in our lives, Felix will be missed tremendously, especially his smiling eyes and heart of gold.

Felix is survived by Nora, his loving wife of 44 years, and sons, Joseph and Keith Garcia, and grandsons, Felix and Jonathan.  In addition, he is survived by his mother, Elma Garcia; sisters - Lillian Apodaca; Josephine and husband, Clydo Elwess; Corina and husband, Terry Cogburn;  in-laws – Corrina Martinez; Diolinda Naranjo; Sandra and Michael Martinez; Virginia Martinez, Deborah and Walter Stevens; Ricky Martinez; Denise Martinez and Chis Chavez; and Robert and Renee Martinez; nieces and nephews – Micaela and Santiago Apodaca; Justin and Aaron Elwess; Alec, Madison, and Tessa Cogburn; Allen Garcia; Lorynn and David Naranjo; Michael and Donna Martinez; Rachel, Ann, and Elizabeth Stevens; Megan Osmus and Francisco Chavez; and Emilio and Camillo Martinez.  Felix was preceded in death by his father, Jose I. Garcia; brother, Peter Garcia; father-in-law, Emilio Martinez, and brother-in-law, David Naranjo.

Pall Bearers are:  Justin Elwess, Santiago Apodaca, Alec and Madison Cogburn, Emilio Martinez, Matthew Aguilar and David Naranjo.
