Fernando Sena, 86 of Pecos was called to be with our Lord on March 4, 2010 in Santa Fe. Fernando was born in Las Colonias, New Mexico on October 19, 1923. He was a great father and best friend to his children. He took great pride in his children, grandchildren, and in everything that he did and accomplished in life. In the early 1940s he worked as a miner in Silver City. After moving back to Pecos, he worked mostly as a self employed construction worker, as a cook, and a jack of all trades. He was a long time member of the Sociedad de San Isidro and served as an usher for many years at St. Anthonys Catholic Church in Pecos. Fernando loved the great outdoors and loved to hunt and fish. He will be missed dearly and never forgotten by all of his family, relatives, and special friends. He is preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children, Eva V. Sena. His second wife, Juanita Sena, son Fernando Sena Jr. twins Mary and Joseph Sena and son Joseph Sena. Parents, Eduvigen and Celso Sena, a sister Antonia Sena and 2 brothers in law, Antonio David Varela and Juan B. Varela. He is survived by his children; Eddie Sena (Alice) of California, Mary Ann Martinez (Urbano), of Santa Fe, Dolores Sena (Al) of Santa Fe, Clyde Roy Sena (Lucy) of Pecos, Bea Ortiz (Julian) of Pecos, Virginia Melton (Chris) of Rio Rancho, Nora Arellano (Herman) of Alcalde, Isabel Quintana (John Anthony) of Pecos, Darlene Sena-Esch (David) of Pecos, Terri Portillo ( Roberto) of Pecos, daughter in law, Marie Flores, brother Pedro Sena and sister Celsa Sena-Garcia, 26 grandchildren, 29 great grand children and 1 great-great grandchild. Public visitation will be held on Sunday March 7th from 5:30-7pm. with the recitation of rosary beginning at 7pm. at St. Anthonys Catholic Church in Pecos. The mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11:00 am. also at church with interment following at the Pecos Cemetery.
