Fidel Palemon Cardenas

Fidel Palemon Cárdenas 84, of El Prado passed away on May 7, 2014. He is preceded in death by his wife, Felicita Victoria Sanchez Cárdenas, parents Felix and Petrita Valdez Cárdenas, brothers and sisters, Manuela, Guadalupe, Teodora, Rafaela, Presillano, Jose Rafael, Mario Lafayette, Lucia Cárdenas, and Cora Trujillo. He is survived by his brothers, Luis (Cora) Cárdenas and Antonio Cárdenas, and sister, Dolores Diekmann. He is survived by his children, Jerome Cárdenas, Lazaro Cárdenas (Ramona), Antonia and Agnes Cárdenas, adopted daughter, Martha Oestreich as well as his grandchildren, Larissa Cárdenas, Lazaro Cárdenas Jr., Victoria Cárdenas, Antonio Gerhardt and Lilia Mae Oakeley. Special thanks to Father Clement Niggel and Father Larry Brito for their visits to father during the last weeks of his life. Thank you to Deacon Jerry Quintana, Deacon Larry Torres and David Fernandez for their prayers and spiritual guidance. Also thanks to the staff at Taos Mountain Home Healthcare for their kindness and compassion and to all our family and friends for their constant prayer, support and encouragement. Rosary was held on May 12, 2014. Mass of Christian Burial was held on May 13, 2014. Both were held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with interment following at the Dolores Cemetery in El Prado.
