Dr. Floyd L. Pacheco Jr. 47, passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 17, 2020. He was born on April 6, 1973 to Floyd and Estella Pacheco in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Floyd lived an extremely full, successful life. His passion and determination to become a doctor came after years of excelling in academics and sports. After playing college football at Adams State, he went on to graduate with his bachelor’s degree in Biology and Chemistry from New Mexico State University and completed medical school at the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco, California. Always ready for a challenge, he traveled and trained in multiple locations, including San Antonio, Miami, Russia and Haiti. His residencies and internships focused on Traumatology and Orthopedics. He embraced his passion for helping people and always went above and beyond, always giving.
Upon returning to his hometown here in New Mexico in 2004, Floyd began practicing at New Mexico Orthopedics and after 13 years, proudly opened his own private practice, Sandia Foot and Ankle. He loved his patients and enjoyed his conversations with them, developing life-long relationships that meant the world to him. He flourished in helping everyone he met, never turning anyone away.
Above all, Floyd’s family was his everything. He will be incredibly missed and remembered always by his wife of 20 years, Sharon Pacheco, his precious children, Lauren and Collin, who were his world, and his parents Floyd, Estella and sister Ann Pacheco/Andrew. He leaves behind his godchildren Mateo and Christian, nieces Mariah and Avah, his in-laws Paul and Linda Baca, brother-in-law Steve Baca/Christina and several special aunts, uncles, colleagues and friends. He was loved by many and his humor and generosity will never be forgotten.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private funeral service will be held.
