Frances L. Garcia

Frances L. Garcia 92 of El Guache died peacefully on Monday, March 16 2009. She is preceded in death by her husband Pedro Alcantara Garcia, daughter Helen Gregoria Salazar, son in law Augustin Salazar, daughter Rosie Natividad Quintana, son in law Seferino Trujillo, and parents Jose Gregorio and Virginia Lovato. She was the Matriarch of her large family, an artist creating beautiful crochet and needlework to provide warmth for her family, family storyteller and historian. She is survived her children; Loyola Trujillo of Chamita, Eileen Sandoval and husband Raymond of Santa Fe, Theresa Garcia of Santa Fe, Dorothy G. Quintana and husband Henry of Santa Fe, Olivia Byrd and husband Steve of Albuquerque, Lucille Torres of Albuquerque, Pedro J.A. Garcia of Rio Rancho, Floyd D. Garcia of Espanola, Joyce Ferran and husband Leroy of Reno, NV., and Many Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, and Great-Great Grandchildren. Public visitation will begin at 6:00 pm on Thursday, with the rosary beginning at 7:00 pm in the chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:00 am on Friday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Espanola with Fr. A. Moore officiating.
