Francine O. Lawrence

Mrs. Francine O. Lawrence, age 83 of Los Alamos, NM. died peacefully on Monday November 7, 2011 in her beloved Los Alamos. She was born in Longbeach, CA. to the late Alvord and Francine Greenacre. She was also preceded in death by brother William John greenacre and sister Emma Catherine Barger. She met Jim Lawrence, "the love of her life", and were married for 62 years. They resided in Los Alamos for many years, stating she would never leave, and were employed for LANL until retirement. Radio personality Paul Harvey referenced Francine in a story about scientists examining Moon-rocks. She added to her Masters degree by receiving a degree in fine arts. Her family will remember her exquisite attention to detail in her needlepoint and as a seamstress, and she also enjoyed playing Bridge, and traveling the world with her husband Jim. She has left the family great photographs of her adventures & travels. A memorial service to commemorate her life was held at The United Church of Los Alamos on November 14, 2011.
