Frank Naranjo Sr. , 88, of Santa Clara Pueblo, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022. He was preceded in death by his wife Pauline Naranjo; sons, Frank Jr. and James Naranjo; mother Maria Cajete; Sisters, Clara and Pauline Cajete; Brothers, Manuel and Jimmy Cajete; Brother-in-law Paul Gutierrez; Nephew Paul Gutierrez Jr.; Brother-in-law Alex Salazar; nephews Gilbert, Richard and Miguel Salazar; Sister-in-law Margaret Rose Gutierrez.
Frank served in the Navy during the Korean War. He came back home to work for the Santa Fe Indian Hospital and retired. He was very active in both his Native American traditions and Catholic religion. He enjoyed being outdoors working on his yard, planting, gardening and would love to go fishing, go to the casinos and loved barbeques with the family. He loved spending time with his granddaughters and great granddaughter. He was always singing his favorite native songs to them as they grew up.
Mr. Naranjo is survived by his daughter Stephanie Naranjo, daughter-in-law Carol Naranjo, granddaughters Paulina and Helena Naranjo and great-granddaughter Wynter Tafoya; sister Maggie Salazar; sister-in-law Dorothy Gutierrez; and special friend Alice Chato and her family; also numerous nieces, nephews, godchildren, relatives, and many friends.
Services were held at the Santa Clara Pueblo Church on June 13, 2022.
