Frank Ortega

Frank Elirio Ortega passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on Jan 19, 2020, at the Taos Living Center. Frank was born on April 30, 1929. He was a Wyoming Sheepherder and a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He was the son of Jose Herculano Ortega and Maria Carlota Ortega and grandson of Francisco G. Martinez and Benigna Montoya of Des Montes.  He passed away after 90 years of labor and struggle. He is preceeded in death by his father, Herculano and Mother Carlota, his brother Antonio, sisters Eurcelia, Maria Avelina Ortega, Ofrecinia Archuleta and Maria Rita Ortega, sons Frank Anthony and Joseph James Ortega and Juan and Robert Fresquez. He is survived by one son, Dan Fresquez (Andrea). Frank was a grandfather to several sobrinos and sobrinas. Nina Salud Gonzales Lee (Gary J Lee), from Florida, Juan-karlo Gonzales (Mayra Deminge) from Argentina, and Adam Michael Gonzales (Laureana Miera) from Wyoming.  He was a caring Uncle to Antonette Gonzales ( Joe R. Gonzales), Cecilia Trujillo, Ida Martinez, Stephen Archuleta, and grand Uncle to Debra Jeantete, Michael Jeantete, Karen Jeantete, Stephen Archuleta, Toby Garcia, Julia Fernandez, Shelli Martinez and many great grand nephews and nieces. Serving as Pallbearers are  Steve Archuleta, Toby Garcia, Stephen Archuleta, Joe R. Gonzales, and Adam M. Gonzales. Honorary Pallbearers are Isarael Rivera, Martin Rivera, Michael Jeantete, and Antonette Gonzales.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 31, 2020 at 10 AM at Rivera Chapel.  Interment will be held on Monday, February 3, 2020 at 11:15 AM at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.  Arrangements by Rivera Family Funeral Home, Taos.  To share a memory, please visit our website at www.riverafuneralhome.com
