Freddy Marker

September 24, 1941 — November 5, 2016

Freddy Marker, 75, a resident of Coyote, passed away peacefully in his home Saturday, November 5, 2016. Mr. Marker was preceded in death by his parents, Ora Dell ‘Cap’ Marker and Naomi Marker; brother, John Marker, sister, Joanne Love and son, Melvin Garcia. Freddy loved working on his ranch tending to his animals and driving through the mountains. He enjoyed reading Louis L'Amour books, watching country western movies, and spending time with his family. Freddy served in the Army for 10 years and had oversea tours to Vietnam, Turkey, and Germany. He enjoyed sharing about his military service and reminiscing about his experiences. Mr. Marker is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sylvia Marker of Coyote; son, Richard Garcia (Connie) of Piñabetal, son, Eligio Velasquez (Eva) of Albuquerque, daughter-in-law, Annie Martinez of La Mesa, daughter, Joanne Johnson of Ardmore, OK; son, Freddie Campos (Crystal) of Cushing, OK; daughter, Becky Claghorn (Frank) of Ardmore, OK; son, Oliver ‘Tommy’ Marker of Ardmore, OK; daughter, Maria Baca of Española; son, Manuel Martinez of Española; and daughter, Jessica Manzanares (Donald) of Española; grandchildren, Tracie, Richard Jr., Monique, Samantha, Eligio Jr., Emma, Elias, Blake, Justice, Jessie, Briar, Cody, Kennakaya, Kaytlynn, Kacy, Adam, and Dakota; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, Bill and Jim; sisters, Daisy and Mary; as well as other family members and friends. A public viewing will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2016 , 6:00-8:00 PM at Rivera Funeral Home in Española, NM. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 11, 2016 at 11:30 AM at Rivera Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30PM. Serving the Family as pallbearers; Andy Martinez, Kenny Martinez, Joe Salazar, Brian Fresquez, Orlando Morfin and Kevin Smith. Honorary pallbearers; Eligio Velasquez, and Anthony Jaramillo Arrangements have been entrusted to the Rivera Funeral Home of Espanola, NM.
