Frederic Wilmarth, 72, passed away Sunday, April 23 at his home in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Fred, as he was known to friends and loved ones, was born in Massachusetts in 1945. He lived in Northfield, Mass with his mother and father, Harriet and Albert Wilmarth, and sister, Jean, from 1958-1964 where he attended and graduated from Pioneer Valley High School. He went on to join the United States Army during the Vietnam era and served 3 years before an honorable discharge. He met Elaine in 1968 and married her shortly after. Together they traveled the world until finally settling in Santa Fe in 2006.
At a very early age, Fred discovered his fascination for building and carried that throughout his life building cars, buses, houses and bridges. However, his his most prized accomplishment was the life he built with his beloved wife, Elaine, over 47 years of love and marriage. Those who knew him saw many facets of Fred Wilmarth and will miss him dearly.
Memorial Services will be held at Rivera Funeral Home in Santa Fe on Tuesday May 2, 2017 at 11:00am followed by a military funeral at the National Cemetery at 12:45am.
