Fred Martinez passed away on Friday, February 11, 2011 at the Colorado State Veterans Center, HomeLake. Preceding Fred in death was his mother and father, two wives, Eleanor and Helen, one son, Victor Vigil, three brothers, Norverto, Salamon, Carlos, two sisters, Perfecta and Jean. Fred is survived by his son, Freddie (Francis) Martinez-Lieynaert of Florida, daughter, Barbara (Jody) James of Kremmling, CO, daughter, Beverly (Erasto) Rivera of Amalia, son, Oscar (Mary) Hubbard of Colorado, daughter in law, Irene Vigil of Pueblo, CO, grandchildren, Kristie (Bill and Tami) Torgler, Jody (Liz, Jesse, Utisa, Faith and Kayden) James, Shawna (Austyn) James, Sara (Ray) Valdez, Eric (Jessica, Maria and Danielle) Rivera, Paul and Steven Hubbard, Steve (Annette, Elise, Alex, Ashlyn) Vigil, Sara (Phillip, Anthony, Nikko) Vigil, Michelle (Victor, Larissa) Vigil, brothers, Paul (Vickie), Arhur (Laurie), Manuel, Joe (Pauline) and Phillip (Carol) Martinez, sisters, Martina Madrid, Sara Ortiz and Clara (John) Cabrera as well as many other great-grandkids, nieces and nephews. Fred enjoyed being a logger for many years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, riding his four-wheeler till his eye sight got bad. He really enjoyed spoiling all his grandkids. Fred loved visiting with everyone he would meet telling them stories about his family.
Funeral service was held on February 18, 2011 at Abundant Life Christian Fellowship Church. Interment was held at the Amalia Cemetery.
