Fred Montoya

Fred Montoya, 76, of Taos passed away on November 14, 2007. He retired from the Taos Municipal Schools as a longtime Teacher and Principal. He was also a Veteran of the US Army and very involved with the Acequia Association. He is preceded in death by his parents; Jose and Juanita Montoya, brothers: Bernardo, Ralph, Espil, Gilbert, Joe Montoya, Ruben Vigil. He is survived by his wife Dolores Montoya, children, Lora Yonemoto (Wayne), Viola Montoya, Cindy Medina (Ted), grandchildren, Eric Montoya, Jenni and Sara Medina, sister, Estella Pena and sisters-in-law, Prescilla Montoya, Crucita Vigil and Della Montoya and many other relatives. Rosary was recited November 18, 2007 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Funeral Mass was held November 19, 2007 at 10AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, interment was held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
