Frutoso Medina

Frutoso (Toso) J. Medina, 69, of La Villita went to be with the Lord on January 19, 2017 surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer. Toso was an Hermano of the Morada de Alcalde for many years. He also danced and was the Abuelita for the Matachinas de Alcalde for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Medina and Dolores Martinez, Brothers Robert and Alejandrino Martinez, Sisters Florinda, Luicita Martinez and Lucille Rivera, Brother-in-law, Max Rivera, and nephew Maxie Rivera. He is survived by his brother, Meliton Medina and wife Lupita of La Canova, special Nephew Eddie Rivera and Nancy Trujillo of Velarde who took care of him. A special niece, Aaliyah Trujillo-Salazar, Godson, Joe Medina, Goddaughter, Penny Romero and many other nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, relatives and friends who loved him very much. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at 7:00 PM at the Rivera Family Funeral Home Chapel, Espanola, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 23, 2017 at Saint Anne’s Catholic Church at 12:00 PM in Alcalde, NM. Interment will follow at La Villita Cemetary in La Villita, New Mexico. Serving the family as pall bearers are Eddie Rivera, Joe Medina, Pablo Medina, Benny Martinez, Walter Sandoval, Johnny Sanchez, Dennis Salazar Jr. and Michael Cordova. Honorary pallbearers are all nephews and nieces.
