Gabriel "Gabe" Edmundo Martinez

Gabriel Edmundo “Gabe” Martinez, a beloved son, father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on February 17, 2025.

Gabe is preceded in death by his older sister, grandparents Tom Martinez, Edmundo and Aurora Vigil, Tía Carla, Uncle Joey, Uncle David, and Cousin Angelica.

He is survived by his mother, Lourdes Vigil-Martinez; father, Tomas Martinez (Nat); children, Estevan and Anjelia; Deseree (mother of his children); grandmother, Eva Martinez; siblings, Zacarias, Tanya (Ted), and Jesus (Vanessa); step-siblings, Menard, Antonio, Carlos (Juls); nephew, Theo; niece, Tessa; several other nephews and nieces who called him Uncle Gabe; as well as many other loving family and friends.

Gabe always lived his life to the fullest and by his own rules. He was either getting scolded by his son or put in his place by his daughter. He was the kind of person who could make anyone and everyone his best friend in a matter of minutes. He was a shining light of humor, wit, and laughter, from the heart and soul. Gabe followed his own convictions and did not let the opinions of others hold him back. At the same time, he was the person who would always listen when you truly needed a shoulder to cry on and would offer advice for almost any problem you were facing. Gabe’s passing leaves an unfillable void, but his memory will live on in countless stories, jokes, and moments of kindness he shared.

A rosary will be recited on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 6 PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025, at 10AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
