Gabriel Victor Sturgeon

Gabriel Victor Sturgeon November 17, 1990 – January 24, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gabriel Sturgeon on January 24, 2025, due to a brain aneurysm, at the young age of 34. He was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico, on November 17, 1990. Gabriel graduated from Santa Fe High School in 2009. He was a gifted mechanic, known for his incredible ability to make something out of nothing. His hands were always busy, whether fixing engines, tending to his beloved little farm animals, or creating something useful out of scraps. His passion for his family and cars was unmatched.

Gabriel was a loving husband to Ashley. They spent nearly five years together. Gabriel and Ashley got married in Las Vegas, Nevada, on August 06, 2023. Together they built a life filled with love and cherished memories. Their partnership was a testament to the strength of their love, and their bond will be forever remembered.

Gabriel was a proud father to his children: Gabriel, Emryn, Diego, Brandon, and Kason. He loved teaching the boys how to build and fix things, and he enjoyed spending time with them. He sang to his daughter and danced with her every day, especially to the song “You Are My Sunshine.” His family was the heart of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

He is survived by his wife and children, his father Dale Sr. (Francis) and her children Diane and Natalia, his mother Vicky, his sister Christa (Alex) and her son Brandon. He shared a close bond with his brother, Dale Jr. (Alisha) and their son Onyx. He is also survived by his great-aunt, Virginia Chavez, and his cousin, Josh Chavez, whose friendship meant so much to him, along with many aunts, uncles, and extended family who will forever hold him in their hearts.

In honor of his memory, the family encourages loved ones to cherish the simple moments—just as Gabriel always did. He will be missed beyond words.

A service to celebrate Gabriel’s life will be held on Saturday, February 15th, at 1:00 PM at Rivera Family Funeral Home in Santa Fe, NM. A reception will follow, with details to be announced by the family at the service.
