Garcy Manzanares

Garcy Elmer Manzanares Jr., age 49, was born on August 23,1971 in Espanola, New Mexico, formally from El Rito, New Mexico, and passed away due to a tragic car accident on October 21, 2020.

Garcy is preceded in death by his parents Garcy Manzanares and Epifania Leyba, brother Mark Manzanares of El Rito, NM, grandmothers Celia Leyba of Embudo, NM and Rosenda Manzanares of El Rito, NM, and grandfathers Jose Guadalupe Manzanares of El Rito, NM and Felino Lebya of Embudo, NM, and various uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Garcy is survived by his wife Juanita Manzanares of Hernandez, NM, daughter Chanelle Sandoval of Belen, NM, sister Rosenda Manzanares of El Rito, NM, step sons Jason Blu Lewis and Jose Perez of Hernandez, NM, and grandchildren Luke and Kate of Belen, NM, and numerous other relatives and friends. 

Garcy was a self-employed carpenter and handy man at the Abiquiu Inn. He built a multitude of buildings for the many people of Northern New Mexico and other parts of the country. Garcy served the United States by joining the Navy, he was also a seasonal fire fighter, and a Food Depot volunteer.

He was a man of few words, and he had a big heart, and he always helped others. He was a hard worker who was always on the go. He was a caring husband, father, and grandfather, lover of his dogs, and a good friend to many. He will be greatly missed and always remembered. It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend.  

Serving the family as pallbearers are Jose Terrazas, Leroy Abeyta, Andrew Alire, Toby Alire, Victor Jaramillo, Joe Aldaz, and Marty Martinez. Honorary pallbearers are Kade, Luke, Jose Perez, and Jason Blu Lewis.
