David Nesbit, 69, died peacefully in his sleep on October 13, 2010, after a short illness. He is preceded in death by his parents Katy and David Nesbit, his brother Robert Nesbit, and his grandson Ryan Post.
Dave was born in San Jose, California on August 22nd, 1941. He moved to Taos in 1966 at the urging of his life-long friend Jim Wagner. Dave had many jobs throughout the years, including tending bar at La Cocina, mining at Molycorp, and eventually opening a frame shop with Wagner. Dave met his wife of 28 years, Renze, through Jim. Dave and Renze owned and operated Creative Framing and Crating for most of their married years.
Dave retired in January of 2002, on the day his friend Ken Jenkins, died. Since then he has enjoyed photography, hiking, and camping with his good friend Phil Bateman.
Besides his wife Renze, David leaves his daughter, Sarah (Nesbit) Chacon, her husband Alejandro, and their son Nicholas. He also leaves his step-daughter Robin Post, and his step-son Duncan Post, his wife Krikit and their childen Connor & Kitri. He is also survived by his sister Nancy Nesbit of Penngrove California, and most importantly, he is survived by his many friends and drinking buddies. He will be missed.
