Genoveva O. Martinez

Genoveva O. Martinez – Age 90 a resident of Cuarteles and formerly of Chimayo passed away on Sunday, September 3rd, 2006. She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan S. Martinez in 1988; parents: Felix and Socorro Ortega; son, Filimon "Phil" Martinez in 2001; grandson, Robert Lopez in 2000; brother, Trinidad Ortega; and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Martinez. May their souls rest in peace. Genoveva was a President of the Santa Fe County Senior Citizens Program, Chief of the Santa Fe County Elections Bureau and was a Cook at the John Hyson School in Chimayo. She is survived by her daughter, Lupe Martinez of Cuarteles; son, Erasmo Martinez and wife Eunice all of Chimayo; sister, Leonardita Baca of Los Alamos; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and numerous other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 6th, 2006 at 5:00 p.m. at the El Buen Pastor Church in Chimayo. A reception will follow the service at the Benny Chavez Center in Chimayo.
