On Wednesday, George was called home byour Lord.

He was born and lived in Santa Fe to his parents Emma Valdez and Ernesto Cervantes.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father, brother Richard Valdez, Sister Christella Valdez, two nephews, David Cervantes and Bryan Griego.

George is survived by his loving wife Elaine Roybal Cervantes and his three sons; George Jr (Anita), Marcos  (Roxanne) and Francisco (Giselle), grandchildren; ,Emilia, George III, Jaycob, Emilio, Isabella, Juliette, Hailey, sisters; Patsy Garcia (Ruben), Rosalie (Javie) Juarez, Angela Garcia (Beto) brothers; Carlos Cervantes, Ernest Cervantes, Del Lovato, Henry Lovato, and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Services will be held on Monday, January 2, 2023 from 4;00pm-7:00pm at the Rivera Family Kiva Chapel of Light. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at 9:00am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Pallbearers will be George Cervantes, Jr, Marcos Cervantes, Francisco Cervantes, George Cervantes III, Mario Aduello and Ruben Garcia. Honorary Pallbearer is Joseph Valdez.

On Wednesday, December 21, 2022, George Leroy Cervantes was called home by Our Father in Heaven. He was 65 years old. We were all blessed with his presence by his birth on November 30, 1957. He was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico, to his parents Emma Suazo-Valdez and Ernest Cervantes Sr. He grew up in a household of ten siblings, 6 brothers and 4 sisters. He is preceded in death by both his mother and father, brother Richard Valdez, sister Christela Valdez-Alvarado, and two nephews, Bryan Griego and David Cervantes-Bustos. He is survived by his beautiful wife, his world, his everything Elaine Roybal-Cervantes, his and sisters Rosalia Juarez-Valdez, Ernest Cervantes, Carlos Cervantes, Patricia Cervantes-Garcia, Del Lovato, Angela Lovato and Henry Lovato. He is also survived by his 3 sons and their families, George Cervantes Jr., wife Anita Ulibarri and grandchildren Emilia Cervantes-Roybal, Georgie Leroy Cervantes the 3rd, and Jaycob Cervantes, wife Roxanne Vigil and grandson Emilio Cervantes, Francisco Cervantes, wife Giselle Rosetta, granddaughters Isabella Cervantes, Juliette Cervantes and Hailey Cerrvantes. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. The reassurance of knowing that he is looking down on us from Heaven and that he lived such a wonderful life is what will get us through this difficult time. Not everyone gets the experience of being as loved as he was and still is, so on behalf of all his family we thank you for taking the time to read this and for all your continued prayers and support.
