Our father lived in Santa Fe for most of his life. He served honorably in the US Navy during the Korea War. In his younger days he was a truck driver and worked for the State Police in Santa Fe, NM. He later found his niche and became a master tile setter for many Santa Fe landmarks like El Rey Hotel, La Posada Hotel, many of the Stamm homes in Santa Fe, including tile work in several family members’ homes. He was always in demand in Santa Fe and New Mexico due to his professional workmanship, integrity and honesty. But the tile masterpiece that we treasure is the one at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church where he laid the tile on the outside of Our Lady of Guadalupe decades ago because everyone who passed the Church or was on the premises would admire and pray. Our father instilled in all of his daughters, grandkids and people in general that God was the most important person to trust and have faith in.
Our father also loved the casinos, music and dancing. His favorite music was the Mariachi and Spanish music of New Mexico. He enjoyed being with his friends and family. Yet, the most important thing to him was all of his girls and their families. He adored his siblings and spending time with them. He was always concerned on how everyone was doing and would share his thoughts and insights.
He was a lifetime member of the Eagles, VFW, American Legion and Union De Protectiva.
We want to whole-heartedly thank his doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, and all staff members from Del Corazon Hospice, Veterans Affairs and all staff, physical therapists and caregivers.
