George passed away peacefully at home with his loved ones by his bedside on the evening of September 12th, 2024. He took one last gentle breath and floated softly away.
George was born in Berkeley California. He joined the Army during World War Two. He came home, went to college on the GI Bill and became a chemical engineer. He then traveled the world for his company together with his wife Patricia. Eventually they settled in New Jersey to be close to the company headquarters and raised two children, Katherine and Gregory. In his elder years he retired back to his beloved California. At the end of his life, he lived with Katherine who cared for him in her home in Abiquiu, New Mexico, for his last two years.
His family would like to thank the VA for providing excellent health care to George for so many years. He loved the VA hospital in Albuquerque. He always said that the people there treated him with such kindness and respect. His VA doctor and nurse in Espanola were always wonderful also. We also want to thank Amber Care Hospice. Their help towards the end was more valuable than we can say, and each person was amazing. Also, Brittany from Village Home Care, She, with her care and dedication made everything possible. We also want to thank Antonio Salazar and everyone from Rivera Funeral Home for their compassion and professionalism at the end. We will be forever grateful to you all.
Thank you.
