George W. Sanchez (67) peacefully passed away on November 29,2018 surrounded by his loving family. George was born to Antonio (Tony) and Elizabeth (Elsie) Sanchez on June 10, 1951. He joined the United States Army in 1969 and served in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1975. George was also a 1st Dan Black Belt in Korean Tang Soo Do-Moo DU Kwan and had degree in Environmental Science. For the majority of his life he was self employed as a landscaper and excavator. George loved to be outdoors whether it was hunting, fishing or just enjoying the scenery. He often spent his evenings listening to his favorite radio station 89.1 and enjoying his favorite beverage. He liked to joke around and sometimes could be said to have a “colorful” personality with a touch of sarcasm. A quote to remember him by may be his favorite saying “ It’s all in the mind.”

A Rosary Service will be held at the Scared Heart of Jesus Parish in Española NM on Friday December 7, 2018 at 7:00pm. A Celebration of Life will also be held on Saturday December 8, 2018 at 12:00pm at the American Legion Hall – Hunter St. Española NM.
